Creative Future
F
ounded in 2013, the Creative Future Literary Awards is the UK’s only national literary competition aimed solely at talented marginalised writers who might otherwise lack access to high-quality professional and artistic development opportunities. Alongside the competition itself, Creative Future also presents a national Showcase which featured readings from each of the award winners and high-profile guest writers as well as publishing an anthology featuring their work.
‘Awards like these can be the spotlights that direct the book business’s notoriously unadventurous attention away from the status quo.’ // PATRICK GALE, NOVELIST

ABOUT OUR COLLABORATION WITH CREATIVE FUTURE
We managed the Creative Future Literary Awards from 2014 to 2016. During that time, we worked with Creative Future to:
- Secure over £61K in grants
- Design and deliver a national workshop programme for marginalised writers, reaching over 100 talented writers across the country
- Negotiate partnerships with major arts and literary organisations including Free Word Centre, Southbank Centre, and New Writing North
- Increase the awards’ national profile by securing endorsements from major literary figures like Patrick Gale and Lemn Sissay, doubling visits to our website and our social media engagements, and securing coverage in key trade publications like the Bookseller
- Launch an innovative writer in residence scheme in partnership with New Writing South and Preston Park Recovery Centre
